Random Thought; The End of The Year

There’s nothing quite like coming home after a long day at work, especially when the rain is pouring down outside. I’m sitting here right now, feeling a sense of serenity wash over me as I watch the raindrops dance across my window. It’s moments like these that make me feel truly alive and ready to put my thoughts into words. After all, what better way to capture the essence of a moment than through writing?

As the year draws to a close, I can’t help but feel a sense of familiarity. It’s the same old routine: Christmas, Secret Santa, New Year’s Eve, resolutions, and performance reviews. But amidst all the celebrations, I can’t help but wonder: what’s the purpose of it all? Are we mere spectators to the passing of time? Do we get a do-over at the end of the year? And what exactly are we revolving around?

Personally, I’ve never been one for New Year’s resolutions. Life doesn’t follow an annual cycle, so why should we be constrained by it? If I want to change something about myself, I don’t need to wait until the new year. I can start at any time. So why bother with a list of half-hearted promises that I’ll most likely forget about by the second week of February?

I know, I know. I’m asking too many rhetorical questions. But in a world where nothing is certain, sometimes it’s good to ponder the bigger picture. And even though I may never find the answers I’m looking for, I’ll keep on contemplating. Because in the end, that’s all we can do.
