Ballad of The Dusk

By Marhaeny — writing this whilst watching the sunset from my apartment balcony

As daylight fades and twilight looms
The world is bathed in golden splendor
The shadows stretch and grow
Enchanting the land with the soothing spell

The birds chirp one last tune
A wondrous feat of harmony
As they pay respect to the mighty sun
Then retreat to their peaceful haven

O, twilight’s grace,
What art thou if not a splendid farewell?
A last embrace of sun and sky
Before the night doth swell

Here I sing thee a song of yore
Of all the stories that lie untold
Of tears that fall unspoken
In the Ballad of the Dusk
